For those who live in the Oklahoma City area, there is hope that the economy is turning around and that jobs will become more readily available, at least that is what some reports indicate. Oklahoma City added 1600 jobs, right behind Kansas City, which added 1800 jobs. Kansas City, which had a strong increase in manufacturing positions, is one of the top rated in the nation. This is according to the recent analysis released by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

In the Oklahoma City area, the main job increases came from the manufacturing industry. This is good news as many of the region's plants and production facilities have gone quiet in recent years as the demand for products dropped. In economic conditions that are less desirable, people stop purchasing as much product, everything from toothpaste to cars. As a result, manufacturing sectors are often hit the worst in such cycles.

Likewise seeing an increase of 1600 jobs in the last year in the manufacturing industry in Oklahoma City alone is good news. It indicates that the city is seeing people go back to work as the country's economy is growing. The Kansas City was not the largest in terms of adding manufacturing jobs, though. In fact, Detroit led the way by adding some 11,400 jobs in the manufacturing industry since 2011 started.

For those who are still looking for work in Oklahoma City, are you considering applying for positions in the manufacturing industry? If so, what types of job ads are you seeing?
